How to create a successful book query for a Christian publishing house:
- Give the facts: Mention your books genre, estimated length, and title (if you have one!)
- Keep it short: Briefly describe your book’s plot or outline. If it’s a nonfiction book share what main ideas you are trying to teach. If it’s a fiction book, share themes that are woven into the book.
- Tell us about you: What is your writing experience? Have you published before? Share relevant life or vocation experience. Keep it concise.
- Share your values: When submitting a faith-based book, share your theological leanings or ideologies which will be present in the book. A Christian publishing house (such as this one!) may be looking for someone who’s values align with their mission or statement of faith.
- Proofread: Comb your query letter for grammatical errors or typos.
