Here at Literary Canvas Publishing House, we have a passion for stories. The Bible is our standard for truth and the best book out there – but there’s plenty of room in the world of literature for more Christian authors and artists to share their stories. We believe that people were designed to be creators. We were made in the likeness of the ultimate Creator, and when He made us, He shared that part of His character with us.
When we create beautiful poetry we are echoing God’s beauty, when we write impactful stories or nonfiction, we are echoing God’s love of truth and order. With almost any genre, there are ways to bring God glory. So that’s our mission, here at Literary Canvas Publishing House, we intend to publish beautiful works of literature that bring God glory.
Books that are explicitly Christian are welcome, but not required for submission. Book Genres we would like to publish include: Christian lifestyle, Christian nonfiction, Christian romance, memoirs, YA Fiction, YA romance, poetry, and children’s books.
For shorter works, consider submitting your writing or art to be included in the next issue of our magazine.
Inspiring quotes for the Christian Creative
You and I are called to reflect God’s greatness and imitate his character to the world.
― Jordan Raynor, Master of One: Find and Focus on the Work You Were Created to Do
Those of us who write, who sing, who paint, must remember that to a child a song may glow like a nightlight in a scary bedroom. It may be the only thing holding back the monsters. That story may be the only beautiful, true thing that makes it through all the ugliness of a little girl’s world to rest in her secret heart. May we take that seriously. It is our job, it is our ministry, it is the sword we swing in the Kingdom, to remind children that the good guys win, that the stories are true, and that a fool’s hope may be the best kind.
― Andrew Peterson, Adorning the Dark: Thoughts on Community, Calling, and the Mystery of Making
Christ does not stand against your creativity, but he does stand over it. Your creativity was and will always be an instrument of worship. The gospel re-creates all of you so that every part of you—including your creativity—is from Christ, through Christ, and to Christ. The gospel retunes your creativity to sing his grace. It re-creates your creativity so that it can finally do what he made it to do—bring him glory, forever.
